Banana and Oats Smoothie

When we talk about smoothies everyone have different feelings & memories with it. From children to old age people smoothies are everyone’s favourite and of course why don’t. Smoothies have its own properties like its easy & simple to make, healthier to consume for all age group and of course loaded with flavours.

Here my Banana & Oat Smoothie might sound bit different for many people since i have added oatmeal into it. Oatmeal? Does it sound weird? Of course no. I added oatmeal for a specific purpose, to add extra nutritional value & flavour to my smoothie. Oatmeal is a good source of dietary fiber, protein, many vitamins & minerals. I always prefer well ripe banana to make the smoothie sweeter and smoother. I love to add some nuts or dry fruits also to my banana smoothie like soaked almonds, cashews & raisins or dates to make it more nutritious and tastier.

This recipe is a power pack – full of calories, protein, good carbs, vitamins and various minerals. I always prefer to consume this kind of smoothie for breakfast which keeps me energized & active throughout the day.

Banana and Oats Smoothie

Here is a easy & simple power pack smoothie recipe which can be made just in 10 minutes and perfect for all age group.
Use well ripe yellow bananas to make the smoothie sweeter and smoother. This recipe is one of my favourite and specially my kids love it a lot.

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 cooking pan to roast te oats
  • 4 glasses to serve the smoothie

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp Oats
  • 2 cups Skimmed milk
  • 1 cup Natural yoghurt
  • 2 pcs Well ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp Almonds soak them overnight
  • 1 tbsp Cashews soak them overnight
  • 2 pcs Dates Preferably Medjool dates

Instructions
 

  • Roast the oats in a pan over slow heat without giving brown color, spread on a trey & let it cool down.
  • Soak the roasted oats with one cup of skimmed milk for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the seeds of dates and put all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
  • Pour in a glass and and garnish with sliced almonds or slices of banana.

Notes

Please note: If difficult to find medjool dates can use any other one, if you find them too dry, soak in milk or water for sometime before blending to get smoother result.
